Felix the Fox and the Lost Star

Felix the Fox and the Lost Star
In a quiet valley surrounded by tall pine trees, lived a clever young fox named Felix. Felix had fiery red fur, bright eyes full of curiosity, and a love for nighttime adventures. While other animals were asleep, Felix would sit on a hilltop, watching the stars twinkle above.
One chilly night, as Felix was staring at the sky, he noticed something strange. One of the stars began to shimmer more brightly than the rest. Suddenly, with a gentle swoosh, it fell from the sky and landed somewhere in the forest below.
“I must find it!” Felix whispered excitedly.
He grabbed his little satchel, filled it with snacks and a flashlight, and dashed into the trees. The forest was quiet, and moonlight lit his path. As he walked, he met a shy hedgehog named Hazel who was collecting mushrooms.
“Where are you off to so late?” Hazel asked, blinking sleepily.
“A star has fallen, and I’m going to find it!” said Felix.
Hazel smiled. “That sounds magical. I’ll help you look!”
Together, they searched under ferns and behind tree trunks. Soon, they reached a sparkling stream. There, sitting on a rock, was a wise old frog named Ferdinand.
“I saw a bright light fall near the meadow,” croaked Ferdinand. “It might be what you’re looking for.”
“Thank you!” said Felix and Hazel, and off they went.
At last, in the middle of a quiet meadow, they found it—a tiny glowing star, lying gently in the grass like a fallen snowflake. It pulsed softly, as if it were sleeping. Felix bent down and whispered, “Don’t worry, little star. We’ll help you get home.” But how could they send it back?
Suddenly, an idea struck Felix. “We can place it on the tallest tree in the valley. Maybe the sky will find it there!”
Hazel and Felix carried the star carefully and climbed the biggest tree on the hill. When they reached the top, they gently placed the star on a branch.
As soon as they did, a beam of silver light reached down from the sky, wrapping the star in a warm glow. Slowly, the star lifted into the air and soared back into the sky, twinkling even brighter than before.
Felix and Hazel sat quietly, their hearts full of wonder.
“That,” whispered Hazel, “was the most magical night of my life.”
“Mine too,” Felix smiled.
